We are building out the first team at a cutting-edge directed energy company, focused on developing laser systems for cUAS (counter unmanned aerial systems) applications. Our mission is to protect the U.S. and its allies by equipping them with innovative and scalable solutions to address the emerging threats posed by mass-manufacturable drones. As one of the first engineers at the company, you will have the unique opportunity to help shape and develop the MVP for our groundbreaking product. This is a generalist role that requires self-direction, adaptability, and a passion for learning quickly. You will be contributing to the design, development, and deployment of high-performance systems in a fast-paced environment.

What Youll Be Doing:

• Collaborate on the design and development of the companys first product MVPan edge-deployed laser system for drone defense.
• Build high-performance, real-time systems using compiled languages such as C++ or Rust.
• Work on robotics systems and integrate cutting-edge technologies to deliver a robust, scalable solution.
• Engage in hands-on problem-solving and troubleshooting, ensuring optimal system performance.
• Contribute to the overall mission of advancing scalable defense solutions.

Requirements:

• 0-10 years of engineering experience (we hire for passion, not just credentials).
• US Citizenship is a must.
• Evidence of self-directed projects in CS or robotics.
• Proficiency in developing real-time systems using C++, Rust, or similar compiled languages.
• A passion for building products and contributing to mission-driven projects.
